Carol Anne has actively been involved in volunteerism and  rural development for much of her life. At a very young age, Carol Anne became involved with the Liberal Party working as a volunteer on several local campaigns. From that first exposure to politics, she has remained an active member of the Liberal Party. Serving as Youth Representative on the District of Grand Bank Liberal Association, Carol Anne has gone on to fill several other positions within the Association. After serving as Area Director for the District, she was elected President. Currently the Past President of that Association, she still remains an Area Director.

Aside from provincial positions held, Carol Anne moved to positions within the Federal Riding Association. She was first elected Director of the Random-Burin-St. George’s Federal Liberal Riding Association before assuming her current role as Federal Riding President. In this capacity, Carol Anne sits on the Provincial Board as the Federal Riding Representative for Random-Burin-St. George’s and is a member of the National Council of Presidents.

Outside of politics, Carol Anne is also an active member of several other organizations serving her community and the Burin Peninsula. She is a member of the Advisory Board for the Grand Bank Seamen’s Museum- a subsidiary of “The Rooms”.  After serving two terms on the Schooner Regional Development Board, Carol Anne now sits as an ex-officio. A community minded individual, she also sits as a Board Member on her    Parish Council where she has much to offer.

Carol Anne’s field of work has primarily been in the area of regional economic development. Prior to her current position, Carol Anne was employed as Community Service Officer/Coordinator with the Greater Lamaline Area Development Association. While serving in that capacity, she was employed in the film industry working on several film projects and was instrumental in initiating several tourism projects in the Greater Lamaline Area. Carol Anne has given much of her time to studying the 1929 Tsunami and through the College of the North Atlantic researched the prospect of creating and producing Wave Energy on the Burin Peninsula.

Her years of experience working with the Liberal Party coupled with her experience in economic development has boded well for her in her current position as Special Assistant to Judy M. Foote, Member of Parliament for Random-Burin-St. George’s.
